Gold Accent Mats for Landscape Paintings

Gold Accent Mats for Landscape Paintings

The Winter Reset has sent me into a tizzy.  I thought I would methodically address each room in our house.  Instead, I am doing what I always do and seem to be working on 12 rooms at once.

Most recently, in addition to our construction project (basement + new closet addition) that is almost complete, I've decided to update each room as we are putting the house back together.

I moved some art around, then I needed to replace that art.  Then, I realized I had too many botanicals in one room (if possible), so I had to replace some other pieces of art to balance it out.  Now, I feel like I am working on every single room in our house at once.

This is all to say that I'll be showing you all of our new art and making it available online as we go.  Last month, I added these new French Landscapes (by Charles-François Daubigny from $12) to the shop.  I have decided to hang them here in our Living Room.

On our recent trip to Paris I was very tuned into the art and, in particular, how things were matted and framed.  I noted that layered mats seem to elevate any piece of art - especially when the mat had a gold accent.

These landscape paintings are quite muted and warm, so I needed a more beige, saturated mat to make them feel at home.  I can't get over how good these look.  I love how the wide mat makes them stand out even more.  I have the new Beige + Gold Accent 11x14" mats with a 5x7" opening, here.  They are also available in 8x10".

I am also offering them in a more off-white linen textured option, shown below.  I am having so much fun being creative with these new little improvements that seem to have no end - so many possibilities.
