We went to Paris for spring break, and clearly it has seeped into many facets since we have returned. I have already released a set of reproduction landscape prints by Charles-François Daubigny and a set of French Botanicals. This week I've been playing with my souvenirs - paint from Charvin, an art shop right off the Seine (I've included photos below).

This is a new series of seasonal impressionist & abstract style paintings. Each season, I'll interpret the same scene in the seasonal color palette. This is the first of the series : SPRING. Both paintings of the series will feature the same color palette of the same scene, executed in different ways.

I envision these hung together, but could be stand alone pieces. They are a smaller scale and are meant to be tucked in anywhere they might fit - maybe on the top of another painting, or any nook and cranny. Just curious little pieces with pretty colors.
The more abstract version (above) was created with a palette knife with thick swipes of paint.

The impressionist version was created with stiff brushes, both using the new paints from our trip.
